SUPERMARKETS
Tesco was founded by Jack Cohen and he opened his first store in 1929, in Middlesex. There are now over a thousand Tesco stores through out the UK. Tesco is currently the world’s third largest supermarket, behind Wal-mart. The current CEO is Sir Terry Leahy who was knighted in 2002.

Tesco Metro stores are smaller than Tesco Extra’s and tend to be located in city centres. Tesco Express is the smallest type of store, and can be found in many neighbourhoods up and down the country.
