Curry Mile is the name given to a section of Wilmslow Road, which contains over 30 South Asian restaurants and take a ways, making it the largest concentration of South Asian restaurants outside of India. Curry Mile is located in Rusholme, South Manchester.

Curry Mile started to develop fifty years ago with just a couple of cafes catering for Asian mill workers, who had recently moved to England. The first restaurant to be established was the Tandoori Kitchen which is still open for business today and run by the same family. Another well established restaurant is the Shezan which has been running since 1976.

Many of the Take a ways and Restaurants are cheap and stay open till the early hours of the morning, making them popular with students and party goers. As well as the restaurants that attracted party goers looking for fast food, there are restaurants that aim to provide quality food in comfortable surroundings, for example the award winning Darbar.
