A Celiac diet is completely Gluten-free and recommended for people with Celiac Disease or a wheat allergy.
Foods containing high gluten content include:
- Cereals
- Barley
- Rye
- Oats
Medical practitioners however say that patients can tolerate oats, but the Celiac Society believe otherwise.
The diet is generally only recommended to people with medical problems. As well as people who have Celiac disease or a wheat allergy, it can also benefit people who have multiple sclerosis, ADHD and other behavioural problems.
